The Eugene B. Levine Memorial Library and Librarian Ellen Cole support the Congregation and Religious School of Temple Isaiah. Library spirit, technology, content, and programs are patron oriented. Isaiah's Library is a one-room, one-woman shop with a both-hands-on operation. The Levine Library is a haven, a bit of serendipity, an intellectual resource, an educational tool and a source of pleasure.

Students use their Library to widen and deepen their subject knowledge, to learn library and research skills, and to indulge in reading for fun. The annual reading contest with grand prizes is a popular program. Teachers use their Library for classroom resources, for supplemental stories that put feeling into lessons, and for research. Parents use the Library to research original family Bar/Bat Mitzvah services. Adults browse the Café Isaiah cart for the latest novels and non-fiction for personal escape or Havurah nights.
Reform Judaism Magazine has a list of Significant Jewish Books on its web site. Click here to see that list. Temple readers can come to the Library to borrow the books they choose off the RJ Significant Book list.
For help with homework, Havurah research or books you cannot find at our Temple Library, click here for the Association of Jewish Libraries of Southern California resources page. Look for Homework Helpers -- Online Reference Sources: about a third of the way down the page.

We truly appreciate your offers to donate books, CD’s and DVD’s to the Temple’s Levine Library. Please do not donate books, CD’s or DVD’s until you speak to the Librarian, Ellen Cole. No cartons should be left in the library without prior agreement as these pose a fire and safety hazard. Your overwhelming generosity has resulted in a happily packed room and we have no space for duplicates. Ellen is eager and delighted to meet with all donors.
